Abacus Financial Services Group was the one of the first financial services company in the Channel Islands to achieve the international quality standard, ISO 9001:2000.

The International Standards Organisation benchmark is considered to be one of the highest standards achievable. It requires the control and continuous improvement of key corporate processes by utilising a Quality Management System dedicated to the provision of quality services.

To meet the requirements, managers who create policy, steer and direct the organisation need to show leadership and a commitment to the quality policy that is demonstrably the driving force in their goal to meet customer needs. The award was conferred on Abacus because it was able to demonstrate that all levels of staff not only operate to a consistent standard but are also committed to continually improving the level of services they provide.

Abacus went through a two-day rigorous audit and proved that its processes are of the highest standard and also that it has technology in place to continually improve in quality.

As well as gaining ISO 9001:2000, Abacus has also been awarded the TickIT ISO 9000-3, which is the best practice in technology standard. It is one of only two technology departments in the Channel Islands to receive TickIT.

The TickIt Scheme defines quality in the software development processes and how that quality could be achieved, maintained and improved.

ISO standards are increasingly becoming the benchmark by which companies are measured and gaining this accreditation is an excellent way of independently proving that Abacus is at the top of its game.
