Under Tim's direction, Abacus has introduced and developed various investment-related services to support the firm's trustees and to ensure that Abacus retains its position as a market leader. He has been instrumental in introducing greater investment discipline and awareness within Abacus through the use of firm-wide performance analysis and portfolio reviews, as well as a centralisation of operation through the use of core investment managers. Today, Tim and his team continue to evolve their thinking and these services to ensure that the high expectations of our corporate and private clients can be met during these challenging times for investment.

Tim has almost 30 years of experience operating within the finance industry in both onshore and offshore jurisdictions having began his career at the National Westminster Bank. In the mid-1980s he moved to Jersey and ran one of the largest fixed interest teams in the Channel Islands, managing private client and institutional funds for James Capel & Co (now HSBC). He joined Abacus in 1995. Tim is a frequent speaker at conferences in the UK and abroad, on topics that range from investment manager selection to practical private client portfolio analysis. Having represented Abacus on the Private Asset Managers (PAM) panel for the last 4 years he stepped down in 2004 in order to focus on the promotion of Abacus investment services to UK professional intermediaries, family offices and private clients.

Tim is a keen motorsport enthusiast and also races his Ducati 955 in the UK rounds of the NG Road Racing Championship. Other interests include foreign travel, walking and the occasional game of golf.
