ABACUS Financial Services Group will once again be showcasing its expertise at the Global Equity Organisation’s annual conference to be held in London this month.
Ten representatives from the company’s Corporate business in Edinburgh, London and Jersey are heading to the 6th annual international conference which will examine a range of issues in the share plan sector including outsourcing global share plans, the tax, legal and accounting implications of share plans, performance measurement and financial education.
This year’s event, which opens on Wednesday, 22 June, will be the largest yet with over 350 delegates from more than 18 countries. Attendees will represent countries such as Australia, India, China, US, Canada and most of the EU countries.
Abacus Corporate Business Leader and GEO Board Director Andy Turner said the equity compensation market provided a truly global opportunity and this year’s focus on management of these plans and the geographical differences was timely.
“With more than 250 experts, 70 issuing multinationals and 18 countries represented, the event will be truly international,” Corporate Business Leader Andy Turner said.
Abacus Director Michael Byron, together with Roger Fairhead of Rank Organisation, will speak on the subject of aligning remuneration with shareholder returns – finding the right balance between employee, employer and shareholder satisfaction.
For the 2005 London event, Abacus is sole sponsor for the GEO "Celebrate Excellence" evening at the spectacular Victoria and Albert Museum, and will be hosting the gala dinner at which the 2005 GEO Awards will be announced.
Mr Turner said the GEO London event was an important forum for the exchange of information on strategic, financial, cultural, legal, tax, communication and administration issues involving the use of equity and incentive-based compensation.
Mr Turner said: “There is a truly global perspective on the way employers need to deliver innovative and effective equity-based compensation for their staff.”
“Abacus has been developing this area of its business since the mid 90’s and continues to experience significant growth in the equity and share plan administration and financial education services it delivers worldwide.”
A market leader in the field, the Abacus Group is committed to growth of its corporate share plan business in Edinburgh, London and Jersey.
Mr Turner said: “The group has a prestigious client list which includes Virgin, Ericsson, H La Roche, Imperial Tobacco and Mosaic Fashions as well as much smaller private and owner-managed companies and prides itself on delivering a friendly, intimate relationship whatever shape and size of business it is helping.”
“It is a key opportunity for Abacus to raise awareness of our services and to meet existing and potential clients, as well as to exchange ideas and discuss issues with colleagues from around the world,” Mr Turner said.
