Steve said he had high hopes for the team when they take part in the event in the Shetland Islands from 9 to 16 July.

"We have a very strong team and they are all very excited to be taking part. We hope we will do Jersey proud," Steve said.

It is the fourth games for Alexis who is also the men's captain and the third games for Rosie who is the ladies captain, Liam, Daniel, Damien and Simon. Ashley, Amy and Victoria have taken part in two games. There are five new swimmers to the games with brothers Ian and Stuart, Jay, Katie and Sarah-Jane.

13 of the team members are regular swimmers with AIB Tigers while Kate is from the Jersey Swimming Club.

Abacus Financial Services Group has been supporting the swim team for over 8 years.

"The Jersey Abacus Swim Team represents the excellence and determination of its members to be the best at their sport. These attributes are ones we at Abacus also strive for and we are delighted to be able to support the team in their bid for success at the games," he said.
